Here are a few highlights of the 8th Grade Recognition Ceremony. Every year the teachers create a beautiful experience for the students including a social, end of the year traditions and a slideshow of memories. Dr. Cox returned from his retirement to give his good wishes to the students as they lined up for the ceremony. From top left: 1-Students involved in extracurriculars rose to their feet when called -what an involved group of students the Class of 2018 is! 2-Faculty flanked by balloons and fern decor. 3-Mr. Reddig presenting the Daughters of the American Revolution Award 4-Applause for the 14 students who earned straight A's all 3 years at Piedmont! Students wrote this poem themselves and recited it during the ceremony. Beatiful show of unity and a great literary and scientific references, too! Those students really know their curriculum- they are ready for high school thanks to the 8th grade team! The at-capacity crowd of well-wishers spilled over into the media center and balconies. Showing off the beadie bracelets and accomplishments was just one part of the ceremony. The real recognition is to all of the 8th grade teachers and students who worked hard to shine every day this year.
