Piedmont has a strong relationship with the community, as you can see from these recent visits, we like to learn from community members. Whether it is learning about the Buffalo Soldiers from the Buffalo Troopers or about financial literacy from a CPCC professor, we like to go to the source. Our 6th grade bridge builders were mentored by a real engineering firm, our Science Olympiad team has a UNCC professor who helps coach all the meetings, we have had aerospace classes taught by Discovery place. Of course the most valuable thing to us is our parent involvement and just having parents in our classes and looking at our projects, listening to our poetry slams, and participating in our education with us is the best gift of all. Through our IB community and service projects, we give back to the community that gives so much to us. Thank you, volunteers!

Author"Celebrating Piedmont" logs only a small fraction of the learning magic the teachers of CMS' Piedmont Middle School, an IB World School. create daily. In that sense, it is authored by all the staff and students of Piedmont. It is curated by Ms. Gurthie who can be reached at the icons above. She'll be happy to brag about Piedmont's teachers and students any chance she gets! Please note this blog has only just begun and we have so much to show off! Come back again soon! |
