Photos of the Week

Here are a few photos of great learning going on around Piedmont this week including Advisory and 6th grade flower dissection. I made separate posts for the religious tolerance museum and love of learning (check back there soon for a video of what was the best event I've ever seen in 25 years of teaching. I used 100% of my battery capturing only a sliver of the awesome.) Thank you Piedmont! Have a Great Spring Break!

Ms. Hall's students use Senor Kennedy's Quizlets to turn their chromebooks into a language lab!

OK so exercise is misspelled but I love that Piedmont makes time for Advisory and the great lessons Ms. Delaney and Ms. Gialombardo create.

Ms. Burick's students examine flower parts in person and under a microscope.

Our students are so smart. Seriously.

I learned a lot from Mr. Clark and I loved the way his classroom was a buzzing hive of activity directed by the students themselves. Buzzing --get it? Bees pollenate the flowers! I crack myself up!

These are the faces of surprised delight when students found out Ms. Burick was offering a candy bar prize for best Instagram science photo!

In case you haven't had a lesson, you can check out the posters in the sixth grade hallway.

Ms Burick wore the right dress for flower day!

Her activity rules make the acronym FLOWER! Oh no!

African American History and Women's History Month Walls are full of information. This student was proud to be photographed reading them!

"Celebrating Piedmont" logs only a small fraction of the learning magic the teachers of CMS' Piedmont Middle School, an IB World School. create daily. In that sense, it is authored by all the staff and students of Piedmont.  It is curated by Ms. Gurthie who can be reached at the icons above. She'll be happy to brag about Piedmont's teachers and students any chance she gets!  Please note this blog has only just begun and we have so much to show off! Come back again soon!
