Here is a quick compendium of some of the happenings this month. From the inaugural launch of our Personalized Learning pilot, to the second official year of our media center makerspace, to Mr. George and the Malawi Club making coffee for our NCDPI guests, to the 1:1 Chromebook distribution and digital citizenship lessons, here are just a few of the beginning of the School year happenings at our school : Ms. McCarthy, Ms. Lyttle, and Ms. Delaney prepare a surprise for Ms. Barone in honor of us being named an A+ school. She's our shining star so we helped her office shine almost as brightly as she helps Piedmont shine! ![]() As he does each year on September 11th Mr. Milligan tells his classes what it was like to be a teacher in New York City so close to the World Trade Center on that day: from hearing the news, to not knowing the fate of his own family, to walking his students home to their own uncertain future, to finding out his friend and college basketball teammate was one of those in the top floors of towers when they fell. Students are spellbound and then have a chance to write about their thoughts. ![]() Ms. Winegardner, Mr. Kennedy and Ms. Lyttle are three of the teachers who are part of Piedmont's Personalized Learning pilot. Here Ms. Winegardner shows her tech skills to Mr. Leggett and Mrs. Lyttle and Senor Kennedy conference with small groups as they work on their lessons at their own pace.
