Summer is coming and you probably have been meaning to learn a few things you've heard about or seen this school year. Tonya McGhee, talented PD Facilitator at Ridge Road made this Symbaloo of PD quickie tutorials. Check it out by clicking the ironically chosen image of the curious snail. Get it? cause snails aren't quick, but this PD is! Huh-larious. Also remember you can use: for other Personalized quick PD options. I can make you a video tutorial, write you directions or do 1:1 or team training for anything you are looking for so send me requests if you don't see exactly what you are looking for or if you just want a real live person to walk you through!

Cool Cat Teacher Vicki Davis (the very same one who tweeted and retweeted her approval of McCarthy and Lyttle's Scavenger hunt to her 80 thousand twitter fans) wrote this article http://www.coolcatteacher.com/effective-tablet/ It may help you get more use out of your Revolve or Ipad. Related: learn to make movies on your revolve here And if you missed the revolve tips last week, click here For your planning convenience, Piedmont master calendar events are posted on this calendar ( For the direct link, click the image of the calendar in this post to go to it) as well as the pencil calendar in the admin hallway. This means you can check the calendar from your room or planning meetings or even from home. If you would like permission to add events to this calendar, email me. Otherwise, cc me when you email Lou about the master calendar, and I will add the event for you. If you'd like to embed this calendar into your classroom wiki for your checking convenience or website so parents and students can view it, here is the embed code. Copy it and paste it. It is a publically visible calendar so you do not need to be signed in to Google drive to view. <iframe src="https://www.google.com/calendar/embed?src=hf47ft4lujsictk6s0p2cvhmhs%40group.calendar.google.com&ctz=America/New_York" Next step is to get our curriculum map from the admin hallway online as well so you can update and view it from any device or home so you always have the best planning! This PD site also has lesson ideas. They are found here http://piedmontpd.weebly.com/lesson-ideas.html Featured this week is a PBL lesson idea for any subject area courtesy of Ms. Barone. Piedmont is known for being active, interactive and project-based. Still, even the most alternative of us tend to use multiple choice sometimes. But don't waste all your creative teacher brain power on grading drudgery. If your plans include a bubble sheet, you can now grade them from your phone with the QuickKey app. I am just exploring it but from the very efficient early adopter Ms. Peterson and I can figure, you have to imput the student names and create classes one time and then you are good. You download their bubble sheet here (save $ from those expensive scantrons!) and then get the app in the app store (for iphone but works on ipad) http://www.quickkeyapp.com/pages/support |
