Learn Multiple Subjects
Sit and watch cool stuff ...it's just like TV but it makes you smart, but it is the internet so you can choose what and when to learn.
  • Ted and TedEd - TED www.ted.com and www.ed.ted.com
  • NOVA- Showshttp://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/
    • http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/sciencenow/
    • http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/search/results/?q=elements
  • BRAINPOP - http://www.brainpop.com/
  • Learner.org - scroll to the subject you want to learn and click for videos http://www.learner.org/resources/browse.html
  • any educational show on tv usually has an educational website. (mythbusters, how its made etc)
  • Youtube: it can make you smarter
    • Blocked from school, but youtube is actually the best site for learning in a fun way. Instead of watching dumb videos, subscribe to some really great content providers who will get you thinking. Check with your parents first because some are kind of PG13, but some I recommend are Quirkology, CGPGrey, Vlogbrothers, Thinkr, Alex Dainis (BiteScized), Crash Course Biology and Crash Course World History, MinutePhysics, ViHart, Vsauce, the list goes on and on. Once you start watching more of those you will find others that are educational and also fun and entertaining.
Tutorials/explanations and Research/information in Many Subjects:

This is Ms. Gurthie's place for students at Piedmont and elsewhere to find resources to fuel their passions. Besides making fun lesson ideas for teachers, I wanted this space to provide PD for students too!
