Ever wish you had a gourmet coffee shop right in your building with expert brewers who'd make a cup just the way you like it even deliver it to you?
At Piedmont, we do. Piedmont's unique and cozy #Coffee4Ed faculty coffee shop was featured on WCCB's News Rising yesterday. As Ray Charles vinyl spinned on the vintage record player, students demonstrated their exacting brewing standards and talked about the cause they support. Principal Jackie Barone and Humanities teacher Jonathan George shared what the Coffee4Ed initiative teaches our IB students about global community and service. Proceeds from the coffee4ed program benefit Equitas in their work with Piedmont's Club Malawi to build a school in Malawi. The relaxing break room is the work of many volunteers, The walls were painted by Assistant Principal Mr. Joyce, decorated by an interior decorator and Piedmont parent. Donations of grinders, water, an other supplies made the vision a reality. Follow #coffee4ed on Twitter and Instagram for more.

Author"Celebrating Piedmont" logs only a small fraction of the learning magic the teachers of CMS' Piedmont Middle School, an IB World School. create daily. In that sense, it is authored by all the staff and students of Piedmont. It is curated by Ms. Gurthie who can be reached at the icons above. She'll be happy to brag about Piedmont's teachers and students any chance she gets! Please note this blog has only just begun and we have so much to show off! Come back again soon! |
