Mrs. Newburger and the TV crew created a slideshow of honorees, both present and distant:
The highlight of the event was the singing of the National Anthem, part of several patriotic songs performed by three Piedmont 8th graders. The young ladies' singing brought tears, chills and pride to those who heard them as the Piedmont Boy Scouts of troop 148 presented the flag. Watch this video and see:
The girls quitely warmed up as guests were eating and I caught one rehearsal on tape.
