mrs luGo wins I am Cms awaRdTop district officials joined Mrs Barone to surprise Senora Lugo in her classroom Friday with an award for excellence.
I will let the nomination form above speak for itself since Senor Kennedy put it perfectly. She puts her heart into everything she does and does it with happiness and flair. We are so grateful she is here for our students and whole Piedmont community.

Students and staff alike have been all smiles at recent events. It seems like we've had multiple special reasons to smile at school lately. For example: Mix it Up Lunch Day helped us find new friends thanks to Ms. Delaney's seating signs while Twin Day gave us a chance to bond with our besties during spirit week. Character day helped us enjoy Halloween, and nothing brightens a cloudy rainy day like snowcones and a glow party - unless it’s running a giant hamster ball across the field. And speaking of field, Piedmont does more than just win at sports out on ours (but win we do! Looking at you, teams!)You can also catch us learning on the field. Mr Kollar and Ms Swift took 6th grade math out to walk the track and then use thier counts to calculate how many laps it would take to travel to Myrtle Beach. (Ask Mr. Kollar about his follow up warm up using a 5 foot student to measure the goal post height!) Thanks Piedmont teachers, staff, and parents for giving students so much to smile about! Click on the photos in the gallery below to view a few of the many staff and student twins (and triplets during spirit week) and catch Mr. Monismith and Mr Reddig with their student twins! This slideshow is a few photos from the Cookie Dough Fundraiser party today. Top sales winners enjoyed Ga Ga ball, a giant hamster dash, swirling their own snowcones with syrup and a glow party in the gym. Finally a few more smiles from Mix it Up lunch tables, Math class on the field, and Halloween Character day - watch for the Dinosaur who won some candy in Ms. Newburger's Makerspace Halloween Lego Build Contest. Author"Celebrating Piedmont" logs only a small fraction of the learning magic the teachers of CMS' Piedmont Middle School, an IB World School. create daily. In that sense, it is authored by all the staff and students of Piedmont. It is curated by Ms. Gurthie who can be reached at the icons above. She'll be happy to brag about Piedmont's teachers and students any chance she gets! Please note this blog has only just begun and we have so much to show off! Come back again soon! |
