Seeing Piedmont spring back to life these last days of school is exactly the right antidote to a long bout of testing. I couldn't catch all the activities as I was proctoring make-ups, but from the tie-dying and arts and crafts, to the memory wall, to the Pirate Awards (where the definition of award-worthy is not just based on test scores) to the street hockey game Mr. Egnot ref'd all day Wednesday, Piedmont said: The test is done now let the passion based learning continue! 7th Grade Pirate Awards didn't just hand out certificates, they put on a PERFORMANCE everyone enjoyed! 6th graders take a ride on a hovercraft their classmates made for Catching Fire - Only Ms. Lyttle can make futuristic dystopian worlds this much fun! Here are a few more images of the beautiful Tie-Dye. Ms. Gorman said it is amazing to watch students faces light up when they unroll their creations. Art and Math is always a plus here!

Author"Celebrating Piedmont" logs only a small fraction of the learning magic the teachers of CMS' Piedmont Middle School, an IB World School. create daily. In that sense, it is authored by all the staff and students of Piedmont. It is curated by Ms. Gurthie who can be reached at the icons above. She'll be happy to brag about Piedmont's teachers and students any chance she gets! Please note this blog has only just begun and we have so much to show off! Come back again soon! |
